Kala Vilasa is a cultural initiative dedicated to promoting Indian classical music, dance, and traditional performing arts while creating meaningful performance opportunities for artists across generations. Through thoughtfully curated concerts, youth showcases, devotional programs, and community gatherings, Kala Vilasa celebrates the depth and beauty of India’s artistic heritage.
Our platform brings together artists, audiences, and cultural patrons who share a commitment to preserving these timeless traditions. By providing a respectful stage and an encouraging community, Kala Vilasa helps ensure that the spirit of Indian classical arts continues to thrive and inspire future generations.
Kala Vilasa was founded by Pandith Vidwan Shrikantha Shastri (Shastriji), a respected Sanskrit scholar and educator who served as a professor at National College, Bangalore, and later at Rajiv Gandhi Samskrita Vidyapeetha in Shringeri, Karnataka.
With decades of dedication to Vedic and cultural education and more than one hundred disciples trained in Sanskrit and Vedic studies, Shastriji has long believed that classical arts flourish when artists are supported by a nurturing cultural environment.
Drawing from his own early experiences and lifelong commitment to preserving tradition, Shastriji envisioned Kala Vilasa as a platform where artists can share their talent, audiences can experience authentic cultural performances, and communities can come together to celebrate the richness of Indian heritage.
Our Journey
From humble beginnings, Kala Vilasa has grown into a respected cultural platform that has supported and hosted numerous classical music concerts, dance performances, devotional programs, and community cultural gatherings.
Over the years, the stage has welcomed a diverse range of artists—including accomplished performers, visiting maestros, and talented youth—creating opportunities for meaningful artistic expression and cultural exchange. Each event strengthens the shared commitment to preserving tradition while inspiring audiences to appreciate the beauty and depth of Indian classical arts.
Today, Kala Vilasa continues to expand its reach, bringing artists and communities together through performances that celebrate heritage, devotion, and artistic excellence.
Why Kala Vilasa Matters
Kala Vilasa plays an important role in nurturing this ecosystem by creating opportunities for artists to perform, audiences to experience authentic cultural programs, and communities to remain connected with their artistic heritage.
By encouraging participation and support from cultural patrons and well-wishers, Kala Vilasa helps ensure that these timeless art forms continue to flourish and inspire generations to come.
